Hi. I'm Katie Freeman
(they/them).

I have been a Coralville Resident since 2014 with my wife and two kids. I spent the majority of my professional life working as an engineer in both aerospace and the medical device industry.

In 2022 I decided to chase after a dream of being a furniture designer and I went to grad school at the School of Art, Art History, and Design at the University of Iowa. In May 2025 I graduated with my Masters of Fine Art in 3D design. While I work on design projects for some local residents and businesses, I also work as an animal caregiver at the Iowa Farm Sanctuary in Oxford, IA.

Campaign Priorities

My campaign is driven by three core principles:

Community Health

Healthy communities start with a place to sleep, clean water, full plates, and care for all.

Proactive Government

Proactive government starts with defending civil rights with urgency, strengthening protections for marginalized residents, and expanding access to the resources that help every Coralville neighbor thrive.

Responsive City Council

Leadership starts with listening. I’ll be in the community, elevating voices and inviting everyone to the table for Coralville’s future.
